Leaving the Matrix is a 36” x 24” original mixed media artwork created with fabric, acrylic, and oil on canvas
This experimental piece marks the beginning of my touchable works — the first time texture became an essential part of the story. Raised fabric, layered paint, and tactile details give the piece a physical presence, inviting the viewer to not only see the work, but feel its depth
With mosaic patterns, floral forms, soft blues, violets, black, and touches of gold, Leaving the Matrix speaks to awakening, transformation, and breaking free from old inner structures
Agata May'kowska is a Polish-born Christian mixed-media artist working from her studio gallery in East Windsor (near Hightstown), Mercer County, New Jersey. Each piece is built by hand from paint, fabric, paper, and found materials, often with Scripture worked into its layers. Read her story →
