Agata May'kowska — Artist CV

Artist statement

My work began as a private survival language — something I turned to while healing from complex PTSD — and grew into spiritual expression. I build each piece by hand from fabric, metal, glass, paper, acrylic, and found materials, layering surfaces with real depth, texture, and hidden detail. In many works, handwritten Scripture is embedded beneath the visible layers, meant to reveal itself slowly, the way a piece lives with you over time.

In 2020 I lost partial eyesight. Rather than limiting the work, it changed its shape, pulling me further into touch, instinct, memory, and emotion. My paintings explore faith, grief, motherhood, healing, and restoration. They are made to be experienced in person — not simply observed, but remembered and lived with.
